Williams dons the UW jersey

Skyline High receiver Kasen Williams orally committed to Washington last night, spurning the caps of Notre Dame, LSU, Florida and Cal to cloak himself in an old-school Huskies jersey. (Here is the video courtesy of the Seattle Times.)

What an exciting offseason for the Huskies as the proverbial “fence around the state” appears to be well in place for coach Steve Sarkisian and his assistants.

I really want to write more about this today, but I am off to the “Ring Around the Needle” pub crawl in Lower Queen Anne. The crawl is a fundraiser for former Huskies women’s basketball player Melissa “Mo” Erickson, who has been stricken with ALS.

Mo is an old friend and, while the diagnosis was shocking and remains to be staggering, her zeal and spirit is as courageous and inspiring as anything I have ever seen.

So, if you’re in lower Queen Anne, come have some drinks or just donate to the Melissa Erickson Foundation and help find a cure to this terrible disease.

  1. Molly- thanks for blogging. I always enjoyed your PI coverage and am finding your thoughts on college football quite interesting. Lifelong Husky fan despite growing up in WSU territory and now living in Nor Cal (mountains though).
best wishes for your advanced degree and looking forward to your future posts.
